18th-Apr-2007 08:54 pm - New Blog!
My lovely friend invited me to join her over at Google's e-blogger, so I have a new blog to document my Thai adventures!

I won't be posting here again, so stop by and read all about beautiful Thailand!

11th-Apr-2007 06:55 pm - Summer Journal Plans
Yes, in Blog v. Journal, Blog has won, and I will be keeping an online journal this summer for all the world to see!

I'd like to find a blog that is printer friendly, if there is such a thing, so that I could print my blog out at the end of the summer without a bunch of reformatting (yes, I think I do have a touch of OCD, I don't trust the big world of Internets to keep my blog safe, so I must backup on paper).

I'll start with LiveJournal, and if printing looks like it's going to be a pain, I'll look around a bit. Suggestions welcome!

6th-Apr-2007 10:57 am - 4.5 Months
That's how long it's been since I posted!

Life goes by scary fast sometimes.

What has happened in those few months, you say?

Let's see.

Not much.

I am heading off to Thailand for the summer which is super deliciously exciting.

I'm actually trying to decide if I will keep a traditional pencil-and-paper journal while I'm there, which has been my travel tradition since forever, or just keep an online journal via this blog. Certainly the blog would be easier on my fingers. But who knows how good internet access is in Thailand. We'll see.

Anyway, I leave in a month and 18 days! So I have to go get ready!!!!! :-)

16th-Nov-2006 05:28 pm - Annoying
Haven't posted in a while b/c my computer suddenly refused to connect to the internet via Firefox, and since that is where all my bookmarks are, I couldn't remember the name of this website! My poor memory--all filled up with rules of evidence and amendment numbers.

So I've been in and out of the tech lab on campus trying to figure this out. And meanwhile, I'm using Netscape, which bugs me. Not sure why, it just does.

Anyway, electronics suck and I'm planning to chop this laptop into tiny pieces and grind them up in my disposal. But first I just wanted to say that my prof wore a tie with jellyfish on it today. He is too cool.

2nd-Nov-2006 05:47 pm - Dreamin'
I started a dream journal today. It was inspired by my new recurring dream. My old recurring dream was of flying and involved beautiful scenery. My new recurring dream features me being kidnapped, and although it's not scary, I find it quite boring (I always know I'm dreaming while I'm dreaming this dream).

Sorry, the journal is handwritten, so you people don't get to peek into my sleeping brain's adventures. But if there are ever any particularly juicy tidbits, I'll pass them on.

So far, 1 dream. Nothing juicy. Just some weird neighborhood kids, and a semi-real computer game.

1st-Nov-2006 11:22 pm - Good Conversation
I found myself talking to myself today. Here's a short excerpt.

Me: I freakin' really can't freakin' read another freakin' word.

Me2: Maybe you can hire someone to record themselves reading these cases out loud and then listen to the recording.

Me: Who would be stupid enough to want that job?

Me2: Good point.

Me: Maybe at least I could be hypnotized into believing I have a photographic memory. Then I would only have to read, and not re-read and re-read in order to actually understand what I just read.

Me2: Sure. Hypnotism. Great idea. Grab the yellow pages.

Me: Sigh.

Me2: Any other options come to mind?

Me: Well, there's always simply not reading. Or sticking the pages together with gum.

Me2: Now you're thinking!

1st-Nov-2006 04:19 pm - Smelly
Here's what my lime green tea Snapple lid taught me today:

"The average smell weighs 760 nanograms."

I've thought about this (for way too long), and realize that I have no idea what this means. What does a smell look like? How do you catch a smell in order to put it on a teeny-tiny scale and weigh it?

Maybe the idea of weighing smells is a little bit like hearing colors. Or seeing smells.

Or hearing voices (that one doesn't really match up, I just thought it was funny).

31st-Oct-2006 06:37 pm - Happy Halloween
My professor wore a wig today made of what appeared to be long pieces of red string. He wore it all class. He's so cute!

28th-Oct-2006 10:27 am - Saucy
I've just come across the most well-written case in the entire study of Evidence. This case is about what evidence of prior sexual conduct may be admitted in rape cases. Here's a couple quotes from it:

"Are we to be told...that the triers should be advised to make no distinction in their minds between the virgin and a tenant of the stew?--between one who would prefer death to pollution, and another who, incited by lust and lucre, daily offers her person to the indiscriminate embraces of the other sex?"

"Will you not more readily infer assent in the practiced Messalina, in loose attire, than in the reserved and virtuous Lucretia?"

"Does not [a] probable distinction arise between one who has already submitted herself to the lewd embraces of another, and the coy and modest female, severely chaste and instinctively shuddering at the thought of impurity?"

"Shall I be answered that an isolated instance of criminal connection does not make a common prostitute? I answer, yes; it only makes a prostitute."

If all cases were written like this, law school would be a lot more fun!

28th-Oct-2006 10:26 am - Yummy
You Are a Caramel Crunch Donut

You're a complex creature, and you're guilty of complicating things for fun.
You've been known to sit around pondering the meaning of life...
Or at times, pondering the meaning of your doughnut.
To frost or not to frost? To fill or not to fill? These are your eternal questions.

11th-Oct-2006 11:33 pm - How Things Stand
I haven't posted in a while, so thought I should, even though I don't have anything specific to say. So just a general update:

School: Hard
Safeway: Ghetto (I need a new grocery store)
Starbucks: Overpriced (but it's hard to last through those 9 am classes without caffeine)
Food: Random (yes, I had cereal for 2 meals today)
Physically: Sore (new gym class)
Mentally: Exhausted (catching up with class reading, thinking about paper topics, needing to outline)
Emotionally: Happy :-)
Tranportation: Needed (must find cheap scooter for sale!)
Entertainment: ABC (since they now post shows online for free!)

Will post again when something blog-worthy happens!

30th-Sep-2006 12:24 am - Fantasy
So I don't want my blog to turn into a Grey's Anatomy blog. But I found another video clip that I just had to post here.

I'm not sure if this is a spoiler... it's hard to tell if this clip will really be in the next episode. Anyway, watch out: it's steamy. :)

29th-Sep-2006 07:53 pm - Good News
My interview today went really well! There's a lot of competition, but I'm hopeful. It would be a great firm to work for, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

23rd-Sep-2006 10:01 pm - Grey's Anatomy 3x02

I somehow found a clip from the second episode of this season's Grey's Anatomy on YouTube! Nothing that important gets said, but if you want next week to be a total surprise, don't watch this! If, on the other hand, you are like me and have no self control, watch away. :-)

19th-Sep-2006 05:07 pm - The Bible Is Wrong
Jesus actually lived and died in Japan. This explains a lot.

(Thanks bro)
16th-Sep-2006 06:23 pm - Booze and Toe Rings
Before 4 pm this afternoon, I had consumed several glasses of wine and bought a toe ring. Clearly, something strange is going on with me.

16th-Sep-2006 11:39 am - Uh-Oh
So until my dear friend told me to stop eating fresh spinach because people are dying from it, I had been consuming a LOT of fresh spinach every day for a couple of weeks! They just released a list of "tainted brands," and yep, the one I've been buying is on there. And it takes the symptoms 3-5 days to appear. So if I'm not in class next week you'll know why.

Here's the list of brands:

I'll keep you updated on my (hopefully fine) condition...

15th-Sep-2006 05:09 pm - Eye Kant Reed
I just got an ad for a magazine that slapped this sentence across the top of the page: "Thankfully, there are still some forms of stimulation that don't require a player."

How sad is that? The only player that stimulates me (sounds funny...) is my laptop because I can watch Grey's Anatomy on it! I don't know if reminding people that they could be off watching a great TV show instead of reading a mediocre magazine (no names mentioned, but it has something to do with economics...) is the best way to sell a magazine.

Anyway, the people who only receive stimulation through "players" aren't going to be able to read this ad in the first place.

11th-Sep-2006 07:29 am - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How crazy is that? It's with a teeny firm that does family law (among other things, but that's what I'd be interested in). I have to wait more than a month till the interview, but that's okay, because I got an interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9th-Sep-2006 09:03 am - SF Treat
I'm off to San Francisco for the day!!!

Excited about sushi for lunch, chatting with my aunt, and the many places that could follow (Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Park, etc.)!

The problem will be narrrowing down my list!
